Physical Therapy
Metro Home Health Care offers licensed, caring physical therapists who provide evaluation and treatment for our patients with various neurological, muscular or bone disorders that limit functional mobility. Many of our patients are recovering from surgery such as hip or knee replacement. A physical therapist from Metro’s experienced staff will perform a complete assessment including testing range of motion, strength, balance, coordination, transfers, and walking. Safety and Fall Risk will also be evaluated. Following the evaluation, your physical therapist will develop a personalized treatment plan in conjunction with your physician. Goals will be set with each patient to help them achieve the highest level of functional mobility and safety in the home.
Our physical therapists utilize a variety of treatment techniques, including:
- Exercise programs for strength, endurance, coordination and balance
- Walking and transfer training
- Techniques to minimize pain
- Recommendations for assistive devices and home modifications to improve safety
- Family or caregiver training to reinforce and enhance treatment benefits
Metro Home Health Care’s physical therapists also work with medical supply companies to be sure each patient has any necessary equipment to improve safety and mobility and to increase independence.
We offer 24/7 on-call Supervisor R.N. for immediate patient and physician consultation.
